PréhistoSite of Brassempouy Entertainment & group activities in Brassempouy

The PréhistoSite offers guided tours for groups of adults (minimum 10 people).

Visits for groups are offered from February 1 to November 30, every day and by reservation with Coralie Lapeyre, responsible for the public service.

These visits include a visit to the museum, fire lighting and flint knapping demonstrations as well as an introduction to prehistoric hunting.

Discover the history of the Pope's cave and the life of men with the presentation of authentic remains discovered on the site during a guided tour. In the museum will be presented ornaments, engravings and bones of prehistoric animals as well as a collection of casts of the most beautiful European statuettes including those discovered in Brassempouy. The presentation of the Lady with the Hood (the original of which is kept at the National Archeology Museum of Saint-Germain-en-Laye), considered the Mona Lisa of Prehistory, closes the visit to the museum space.

In the ArchéoParc, immerse yourself in the heart of Prehistory with demonstrations of flint knapping, fire lighting and an introduction to prehistoric hunting.

Visit to the archaeological site of the Pope’s caves. We offer two options for visiting the archaeological site, one with quick access and the other via the cave trail. By reservation only, this visit allows you to discover the site where the Lady with the Hood was discovered and the importance of these caves occupied for nearly 30,000 years.
