Province : Landes South coast

  • English
    • The fifth largest city in the Landes, Tarnos is located in the extreme southwest of the region, at the mouth of the Adour and at the gateway to the Basque Country.

      Why visit Tarnos?

Tarnos has long been an important industrial centre, notably thanks to its port on the Adour. Today, this history is still visible in the town's architecture and in some museums.

Despite its urban development, the city wanted to preserve its natural spaces such as the Castillon park where it is pleasant to walk or have a picnic.

With its proximity to the sea, while being in the city, Tarnos allows everyone to enjoy the beaches, but also the many shops, restaurants and cultural activities.

      What to do in Tarnos?

      • Visit the Notre-Dame-des-Forges church, a vestige of the time when Tarnos was an important metallurgy center.
      • Enjoy nature in Castillon Park
      • Shopping in downtown Tarnos
