Xavier Carrère: a man who does not lack breath!
Taming the glass is his passion. A passion born at the age of 13 when he began to work this material with his uncle glassmaker in the Alpes Maritimes. Very quickly, he was introduced to the perilous techniques and the burning magic of blown glass and decided to go further by combining metals and wood to create unique works.
Today, it is in his splendid Landes showroom that this incredible sculptor, glassmaker and plastic artist handles bronze, concrete, metal or burnt wood that he puts at the service of blown glass, and presents colorful traveling creations of dreaminess. Elegant sculptures designed for indoors or larger rooms intended for private gardens or public spaces.
Xavier Carrère's works are fascinating both in their forms and in their colors and all correspond to periods of his life “like the desire to blow, through matter, things that go beyond him”.In a perpetual search for balance, beauty and emotions, he delivers an imaginary world dotted with pieces named Big Bang, Ovolite, Silences & Monoliths, Links, Expressions & around the void, Erotica & Constructions, Taureaux & Dissections… all provided with eroticism and sensuality.
He skilfully declined this universe to also embellish everyday life with tables, wall lights, window grilles, gates, in materials that are resistant to bad weather, to be understood as exceptional sculptures.
For this poet of transparency, blowing glass is a breath of fresh air that he invites you to inhale, by appointment, in his magic bubble.

KINTSUGI
Un lien brisé, c’est ce qu’il m’est arrivé alors que je réalisais une sculpture sur le thème du lien. M’est alors revenu en mémoire le KINTSUGI, cet art séculaire japonais qui consiste à sublimer une œuvre en utilisant ses blessures, ses cicatrices, ses fêlures.
C’est toute la philosophie de la vie qui s’exprime dans cette approche , dans cette re-création de l’objet, sublime métaphore de la résilience.
