Close to Capbreton and the Landes coast, the Marais d'Orx is a very important ornithological site. Indeed, the marsh is an essential food source for local species as well as for migrants. The Eurasian Spoonbill is a large wader, with a very recognizable physique and which has become the emblem of the Ornithological Reserve.
